Sherri "Jae" Johnson is a dynamic force in the music industry, recognized not only as a talented rapper but also as a savvy music label owner and dedicated music business instructor. Her journey began as a background dancer and choreographer for the renowned labels Disturbing Tha Peace and DEF JAM, where she honed her performance skills and developed a deep passion for music.

Transitioning into the technical side of the industry, Sherri Jae worked as a Studio Assistant for Mali Hunter at Tree Sound Studios in Atlanta, GA gaining invaluable experience in music production and artist development. Her career continued to flourish as she took on the role of Executive Assistant and Road Manager for Grammy nominated artist, Syleena Johnson, where she furthered her understanding of the music business and artist management.

Her internship at Crawford Broadcasting allowed her to work with influential radio stations such as Power 92.3, Rejoice 102.3, and Soul 106.3, providing her with a comprehensive understanding of the industry’s media landscape.

Sherri Jae's academic credentials are impressive, an NYU Music Industry Essentials Certificate and a Music Business course completion from Point Blank Los Angeles under the tutelage of Marko DeSantis. Completion of the MAPS4Music intensive program in Chicago, led by notable figures like rapper Twista and producer Fredrick “Toxic” Taylor, solidifying her expertise in the field. 

Armed with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Chicago State University; and acceptance into the Masters Of Arts Program for Music Business at Berklee College Of Music, Sherri Jae is passionate about empowering students in underserved communities. She utilizes her wealth of experience to educate aspiring musicians and entrepreneurs about the intricacies of the music business, while also providing Music Business Scholarships to help them achieve their dreams. Through her multifaceted career, Sherri Jae continues to inspire and uplift the next generation of music professionals.
